Thoroughbred Trail Weekend for the Curragh & Punchestown Fáilte Ireland has joined forces with Horse Racing Ireland and a host of tourism providers in Co. Kildare to bring you a very special horse racing weekend with a difference. Horse racing enthusiasts have the opportunity to go behind the scenes at the yards of some of Ireland’s top trainers and enjoy top class racing action at the Curragh Racecourse. The weekend will include 2 nights Bed & Breakfast, 1 Dinner, a visit to a Trainers Yard, a tour of the National Stud and at a day at the races including lunch at the Curragh. The weekend includes an opportunity to shop at Kildare Village Outlet Shopping and/or a visit to Castletown House, Ireland’s largest and earliest Palladian style house. There are two rates for the Thoroughbred Trail, €269 (e.g Rathsallagh, K-Club, etc) and €210 (Osprey, Keadeen Hotel, etc) per person sharing depending on the hotel you chose. Your host for the weekend will be Classic-winning Trainer and Champion Amateur Jockey, Frances Crowley who said: “I am delighted to have been asked to host the first of the Thoroughbred Trail weekends with Failte Ireland. The Curragh Weekend takes place from 11th to 13th September with racing at the “home of the classics”on Saturday 12th featuring The Irish Field St. Leger, while the Ladbrokes.com Vincent O’Brien National Stakes and Irish National Stud Blandford Stakes are also included in this “Super Saturday” programme. A similar weekend will be held in conjunction with the Punchestown Races on the weekend of November 13th to 15th, Winter Festival day.
