Thurles now soft It looks set to be a dry, but cold, day for punters heading to Thurles this afternoon where the feature event is the Grade 2 ATR Michael Purcell Memorial Novice Hurdle. The ground at the Tipperary venue is now soft (soft to heavy in places on the chase course). Friday night at Dundalk could see wintry showers for all-weather patrons. The ground at Downpatrick is currently soft, heavy in places ahead of the northern track's first meeting of the year next Wednesday. Clonmel race next Thursday and the ground there is currently soft to heavy.
