Trainer Henry De Bromhead completed a treble on the evening as the odds-on Belle The Tigress ran out a comfortable winner of the Clonmel Racecourse Supporters Club Mares Maiden Hurdle.

Never far from the lead, the 8/11f travelled strongly under Darragh O'Keeffe, heading long time leader Keilah early in the straight before kicking on over a furlong out. Arctic Flame briefly looked a threat when coming through to press the leader over 200 yards out but Belle The Tigress found plenty for O'Keeffe to run out an easy four-and-three-quarter lengths winner.

Cork born jockey O'Keeffe was completing a double on the card, having been successful aboard Trasna Na Pairce earlier in the evening.

Henry De Bromhead said: "It has been a brilliant day and I'm delighted for Michelle (Doyle) and Sean (Barton) who own her.

"She was really good, jumped the few hurdles really well and I thought Darragh gave her a super ride. She is still a bit of a baby to be honest, and will improve plenty for that.

"We'll keep her going, good ground definitely helps her and I'd say she will stay a trip in time. She is a lovely scopey mare."
