The Willie McCreery-trained Timeless Tale (14/1) was a breathtaking eight-and-a-half-length winner of the Matchbook Exchange Irish EBF Fillies Maiden for rider Billy Lee. The daughter of Sioux Nation was bred with a fast pedigree and had gears to burn up the centre of the track, and it was a race for the minor money as Timeless Tale left her opposition in the blink of an eye.

She was comfortable in front throughout, and when Lee asked her to extend, the response was immediate and impressive when hitting the dip, and she looks an exciting prospect for the future.

Speaking after the race, trainer Willie McCreery said: “That was impressive and I’m delighted to have her.

“She’s a lovely big, strong filly and she’s all natural. She’s never been away from the place and I’m delighted with her.

“I think she’s a decent filly, everything she has done she’s done nicely.

“I’m delighted to have one for Tally-Ho. Her half-sister (Wakanaka), by Power, was a very good filly. She went on to America and was rated around 110.

“This filly has natural ability and we’ll see where the lads want to go now.

“It’ll be a stakes race and she won’t mind a bit of ease in the ground either.”

When asked if she would stick at six furlongs, he added: “For the moment. I think it’s all natural there and there is no reason not to.”
