Times repeats Cup win at Doncaster Times Up (3/1) ran out a gallant winner of the Group 2 Speedy Services Doncaster Cup under Ryan Moore. Last year's winner was notably easy to back before the staying contest but he clearly doesn't make a habit of reading the bookmakers boards and he led home the James Fanshawe-trained High Jinx for a second year in succession. Desert Recluse led them along at a generous pace until James Doyle was first to make his move with six furlongs to travel and brought the favourite through to challenge for the lead. Biographer looked to be moving particularly well in behind but with his reserves of stamina untested, he did not find nearly as much as he promised, and Moore switched his mount out from behind the leaders to take up the running with just over a furlong to go. Repeater began to run on from the rear as High Jinx rallied, but neither could muster the extra gear required to dethrone the champion as he galloped on resolutely to the line. "It was a really messy race and I kind of had to go when I did," said Moore. "I was just trying to save him when he got there but he dug deep when I asked him."
