Tipperary Racecourse will be staging a spectacular fashion and family day at the races this Sunday 18th July when the first race of an all National Hunt card will be at 2.55 pm.
Ladies can enjoy a Fashion Marquee where retailers will display their wares ranging from hats, shoes clothes and outdoor wear. There will be the Ballykisteen Hotel and Golf Resort Most Appropriately Dressed Lady competition where the winner will receive prizes to the value of €1,800. This will include a 2-night stay, dinner and Spa treatments in Ballykisteen hotel and Golf Resort, a fashion consultation with Cashel fashion stylist Paula McGann and a Portrait by Debbie Hickey. The judges will include Meg O’Keefe Fashion Editor of Image Magazine and Stylist Paula McGann.
On the racing front the highlight will be the Grade 3 Kevin McManus Grimes Hurdle of €65,000. This has attracted a high quality entry including last year’s Galway Hurdle winner ‘Bahrain Storm’, 2006 Galway hurdle winner ‘Cuan na Gra’, and Cheltenham Novice Hurdle winner ‘Nicanor’. The younger brigade will be spearheaded by Henry de Bromhead’s Kotkidy and Christopher Ennis’ 'Oberstown Lady'. The supporting races have also attracted some interesting runners but the potential star could be Edward O’Grady’s course winner ‘The Real Article’ who will be bidding for a hat trick in the ‘Jim Ryan’ racecourse services Flat race.
Sunday will also have plenty to entertain the whole family with bouncy castles and plenty of other activities. Following on the popularity of the pet farm last year the Mobile farm will again be making an appearance. This farm is an exciting educational experience for all the family. The mobile farm will offer visitors to see the farm animals feed them and learn about their role on the farm. Tipperary racecourse is offering a special family package for 2 adults and all children under 18 for only €25.
