Those that backed Tisamystery from 4/1 this morning into 13/8, for the concluding Mylerstown Maiden Hurdle at Clonmel, had more than one anxious moment before the Definite Article gelding prevailed convincingly in the end in the hands of Paul Power.

When Joe Holly on Super Cloud went up between Strategic Bid and Tisamystery (on the outer) entering the straight, it looked as though the latter would struggle to succeed.

However, to his credit, Tisamystery went into overdrive when the need was greatest and at the finish he was two and a half lengths to good for Super Cloud with Paddy Roe running a nice race on his debut to finish third.

Winning trainer Henry de Bromhead commented: "Paul said that he should have been more positive on him early on but he's just a lazy type.

"Once he got stuck into him though he got going.

"He gave him a brilliant ride and it's the first winner I've had for John Byrne, a Kerryman.

"His father owned Another Flash (won the champion hurdle in 1960)." (TW & EM)
