The Declan Queally trained Tomahawk Juke made a winning debut when staying on strongly to take the concluding Race In Pink On October 25th INH Flat Race at Galway.

Sent off 11/1 under Declan Queally Junior, the gelding was always prominent, chasing Rocky Alfonso for much of the two-mile contest.

Pushed along to close entering the straight, the eventual winner led over 200 yards out, keeping on to beat Way With Words a length.

Declan Queally Junior said: "To be honest, I never had called him a bumper horse all along and kept saying to my father that he was lacking a gear for bumpers. He is a beautiful, big imposing horse and is a cool customer though.

"He didn't pick up the bridle at all but he stayed really well and is a grand horse.

"He was cheaply bought by the lads for €3,000 and we're in a nice position now, as he will make a nice hurdler next season. We will keep him to bumpers and I won't be in any rush with him now."
