Toole moved to Beaumont

Peter Toole has been flown by air ambulance to Dublin's Beaumount Hospital to continue his recuperation from a serious head injury suffered at Aintree last month, which will also allow the rider to be closer to his parents James and Fidelma in Ratoath, Co Meath.

The 22-year-old was left unconscious after taking a heavy fall at the first from outsider Classic Fly in the John Smith's Maghull Novices' Chase on Grand National Day (April 9).

He was initially taken to Liverpool's Fazakerley Hospital before being moved to the neighbouring Walton Centre for Neurology and Neurosurgery where he was gradually taken out of an induced coma.

Toole, who is based with Charlie Mann in Lambourn, is said to be in good spirits and making slow progress.
