Trainer Richard Hannon has given Toormore the go-ahead to run in the Goffs Vincent O'Brien National Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday.

The unbeaten colt had a clutch of options following his determined triumph in the Vintage Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.

But he has now received the green light to travel to the Curragh to contest the Group One over seven furlongs.

The Wiltshire handler told www.richardhannonracing.co.uk: "We have spoken to Tim Palin, racing manager to Middleham Park Racing, who own Toormore, and we think that the Irish race is right for him.

"Toormore has bags of scope and is very much a horse for next year, but we were anxious to give him one more run this season and the race at the Curragh comes at the right time.

"It is a Group One, so will be tough, but Toormore has done well physically since he won the Vintage Stakes at Goodwood, and this is the next step up the ladder for a colt who we have always rated highly."
