The €100,000 BoyleSports Ulster Derby is the highlight on a seven-race card at Down Royal this afternoon with the action getting underway at 2pm.

The near 1m5f Premier Handicap has attracted nine runners and Tower Of London looks set to go off favourite having landed the Listed King V Cup at Leopardstown earlier this month.

Michael Bell sends over Ibrahimovic to make his handicap debut and the son of Le Havre looks a serious threat having filled the runner-up spot behind subsequent Royal Ascot winner Waipiro at Newmarket.

The BoyleSports Irish EBF Ulster Oaks Fillies & Mares Handicap is the chief supporting race at the northern venue and Joseph O’Brien holds a strong hand here with Grecian Slipper and Timeless Soul both at the head of the market.

The going at Down Royal is currently yielding to soft, yielding in places, following 11mm of rain overnight.

There are six yards of fresh ground and the weather forecast is mainly dry with a chance of light showers and temperatures of up to 25C.

Racing also takes place at Limerick with a seven-race evening fixture commencing at 5.23pm.

The going at Greenmount Park is described as yielding following just 1mm of rain in the past 24 hours.

The forecast is mainly dry with the chance of a passing showers (2mm approx.) prior to racing.
