Toscanini to face two rivals at Naas The Godolphin owned Toscanini is the proven star of the show at Naas on Wednesday where the Michael Halford trained colt faces just two rivals in the Boston Access Supporting Console Race. The son of Shamardal is currently rated 110 and while on occasions has looked quirky, did run with credit when fifth in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot last month. As a two year old Toscanini finished second to Gleneagles in the Group 1 National Stakes and while successful just twice in nine career starts, should take all the beating today, despite giving weight to Dandyleekie and Letters Of Note. The Michael O'Callaghan trained and Pearl Bloodstock owned Letters Of Note has just three pounds to find with Toscanini on adjusted ratings but was well held in a Listed race at Carlisle recently, having finished eighth on soft ground in the German 1,000 Guineas. Dandyleekie has finished last on his latest two starts and is the likely outsider of three. The opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden is a race likely to produce a star of the future with Ballydoyle's Lieutenant General, himself a 2015 National Stakes entry, likely to take a leading role having finished second on debut at the Curragh ten days ago. However the son of Fastnet Rock faces stiff opposition with Jim Bolger introducing star miler Dawn Approach's brother Herald The Dawn. Herald The Dawn, a Bolger homebred, is already owned by Godolphin and also holds a National Stakes entry and is likely to have plenty ability. Bolger introduces another blue blooded juvenile Queen Of Sicily, which also races in the Godolphin colours, in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden. The daughter of Sea The Stars' sire Cape Cross is out of Wesley Ward's 2009 Queen Mary winner Jealous Again and it is notable Queen Of Sicily also holds a Group 1 Moyglare entry. At a lower level, Bolger's Algonquin bids to complete a hat-trick and defy top weight in the Michael Higgins & Co Handicap. The son of Archipenko won his maiden at Dundalk last October but was absent until making his winning reappearance at the Curragh 12 days ago. By Tom Weekes
