Tote launch another new bet Tote Ireland are launching another new bet tomorrow at Gowran Park, coming just a few weeks after the introduction of the Pick Six. The new bet is actually a re-vamp of an old bet that was popular with Tote punters many years ago, The 'Daily Double'. The 'Tote Daily Double' will be run on races five and six and involves picking the winners of both races in a 'double' which entitles you to a share of the pool. The two races that form the Tote Daily Double at Gowran Park tomorrow are the 6 runner PJ Foley Memorial Novice Chase and the 13 runner Carey's Cottage Cup Handicap Chase. The new bet will be rolled out at all Irish meeetings after it's premier on the high profile Thyestes card, where a €2,000 guarantee will apply. If there is no winner of the Tote Daily Double the pool is rolled over to the next applicable race meeting. The unit stake for the Tote Daily Double will be €5. The minimum stake on a single line Tote Daily Double (i.e. a Tote Daily Double where you have only selected one runner in each race) is €5. If you selected two horses in both races the permutation would be as follows: 2x2=4x€5= €20. Tote Daily Double dividends will be declared to a €5 stake. There will be a number of '€5 off' bet coupons distributed at Gowran Park on Thursday so Tote punters can try this new bet. The Tote Daily Double pools will also be guaranteed for €2,000 this Saturday and Sunday (22nd and 23rd January).
