After tricky results early on, it became easier for punters as the card progressed at Sligo. No doubt plenty of racegoers this evening will have been present at Roscommon on Monday too and they'll have had little hesitation rowing in behind Lady Olwyn victorious in the Kilcawley Construction Sligo Handicap Hurdle.
At Roscommon Lady Olwyn made the 'good thing,' Forever Gold work hard for his victory in the concluding handicap chase.
John Larkin saw fit to bounce the Revoque mare out again quickly, sporting the cheek-pieces for the second time and reverting to hurdles.
Talented 7Ib claimer Ger Fox was again in the plate and similar to 'the other evening' he elected to go for his race from a fair way out.
In something of a case of history repeating itself, Lady Olwyn, who has been a good servant to the Glasvale Syndicate, was scoring over two and a half miles at Sligo for the second time.
She achieved the previous track and trip win back in August 2012, just three days after a Tramore success.
The now nine-year-old attained her previous three career victories for John McConnell and here for John Larkin she kept up the gallop from before the last to see off the well-supported Better Back Bob (14s into 7s) by four and a quarter lengths.
Larkin explained: "It wasn't really the plan to run twice in the week but she was fit and healthy and she seemed to come out of the Roscommon run well.
"The syndicate (from Cavan and Monaghan) would love to have a runner at Galway so she'll go there as long as there is a bit of cut in the ground."
Thomas P.O'Connor, trainer of Lilshane reported to the Clerk of Scales that his charge choked in running.
