Tour Des Champs lands Sussex National Tour Des Champs came out best in a gruelling renewal of the At The Races Sussex National at Plumpton. Trained by Nigel Twiston-Davies and carrying the colours made famous by Bindaree in the Grand National at Aintree in 2002, Sam Twiston-Davies' mount was prominent early on and by the time the field got to five out, he was the only one really travelling. Some seven or eight lengths clear of the remaining runners turning for home, the 11-2 winner was held together nicely by Twiston-Davies over the last two fences, eventually finishing 16 lengths ahead of 3-1 favourite Krackatoa King. Finish The Story was third, with Blameitalonmyroots last of the four to complete. The win completed a good weekend for the Twiston-Davies yard, having had a valuable double at Haydock on Saturday.
