Towcester Saturday Off Towcester's meeting on Saturday has been abandoned due to a frozen track. Clerk of the course Robert Bellamy was effectively resigned to his fate on Thursday when announcing a 7am inspection for Friday morning. And so it proved, as another bitterly cold night emerged the final nail in the coffin for the weekend jumps fixture. Bellamy said: "It's minus 3C this morning, with 60% cloud cover, so we have no chance. "It's due to get to 1C at lunchtime, but down to minus 3C or minus 4C this evening. "With no chance of racing, we thought it best to knock it on the head early."
