Paul Townend completed a quick double at Tipperary when picking up a winning spare ride on Fiesole in the Woodlands Hotel Adare Handicap Hurdle.

Townend was replacing Donagh Meyler (unwell), and the former champion was following up the equally easy victory of Quick Grabim in the Grade 3 Joe Mac Novice Hurdle just half an hour earlier.

The Eoin Doyle-trained gelding arrived on the heels of the leaders entering the straight on a tight rein, and Townend hardly moved a muscle as the 6/1 chance struck the front just before the final flight.

The dual-purpose six-year-old cruised clear to beat Wait Here by a facile four lengths, with Stooshie a nose further back in third.

Fiesole has now won seven races (4 Flat/3 Hurdles) under both codes.
