Townend picks up 7 day ban The Stewards interviewed Paul Townend rider of Kerryhead Windfarm concerning his use of the whip in the home straight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Mr Gerry Cully trainer was also present. Having viewed the video of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that Paul Townend had used his whip both excessively and unnecessarily and therefore suspended him for seven racedays.
