After two wins for her brother Paul, Jody Townend got in on the act at a showery Tramore when 8/13 favourite Quel Reve won the bumper in impressive fashion.

Townend took her time on the daughter of Great Pretender and made her move on the outer racing downhill into the dip on the final circuit. Princess Sophia had made a bold bid from the front but was reeled in by Quel Reve inside the furlong marker and the winner powered away to score by seven lengths. State Of Honor was a further three lengths away in third.

It was a treble for Wille Mullins, after Paul Townend's victories on Stilyker and Mi Lighthouse and the champion trainer remarked: "I'm very pleased with her and the way she quickened up in the deteriorating conditions. Jody timed her run perfectly and was very good on her. Patrick is away for a few days.

"We will look for a winners' bumper somewhere and if we can find one for mares, we will go for that."
