Tramore hosts a seven-race evening card over hurdles and fences, featuring a mixture of novice races and handicaps. The action kicks off at 17.05 and runs through to the finale at 20.05 and our expert, Jason Leahy, has provided selections and analysis for three of the races on Thursday’s card.

Thursday’s Tips

17.05 Tramore - Enjoy The Dream

Only four runners go to post for the opener, and it looks worth siding with Andrew McNamara’s six-year-old mare, who is still a maiden over fences. She’s the most exposed of these over the larger obstacles but has some solid form to her name, and it shouldn't be too long before she gets off the mark.

She has finished second three times since a good debut behind the smart Inthepocket. Two of those runner-up efforts have come on her last two starts, where she posted her best RPRs of 120 and 121. She proved fully effective over this trip last time when just edged out close to home, and she looks a winner in waiting.

Her other second, behind Release The Beast back in December last year, also reads well. If she can reproduce the form of either of her recent runs, she should take all the beating.

17.35 Tramore - On Lovers Walk

Plenty in here have questions to answer and this doesn’t look the strongest of races, so this could be the day Ross O’Sullivan’s eight-year-old gets off the mark.

He has had seven starts over fences, hitting the frame three times, and this looks a good opportunity for him to make the breakthrough.

His run over course and distance in April behind Rochestown is arguably his best piece of form. He was denied by just over a length that day, and a repeat of that effort would make him hard to beat. El Champo looks the main danger. He has contested some stronger races but has been well beaten in most of them. He finished nine lengths behind On Lovers Walk at Clonmel in February off level weights. He receives 7lb from that rival today, but it’s questionable whether that will be enough to turn the tables.

20.05 Tramore - Winter Fog

Although better known for his exploits over hurdles, Winter Fog looks hard to oppose for Willie Mullins back on the Flat, as he bids to go one better than last year’s second. He remains a maiden after two runs on the Flat, finishing second both times, but those efforts came in stronger races than this.

He is currently rated 148 over hurdles, having picked up prize money in four Grade 1s last season, including third-place finishes in both the Irish and UK Champion Hurdles.

He arrives following an 11th-place finish in the Galway Hurdle, so fitness is unlikely to be a concern.

This looks a weaker renewal than last year, and despite being an 11-year-old, he has shown he still retains plenty of ability. He should be tough to beat.
