The Tom Taaffe trained Treacle ran out a 4 1/2 length of The Listowel Vintners Handicap Chase in the hands of Adrian Joyce.
Winning trainer Taaffe stated, "That's my first winner of the new season. I'm delighted for the owner Bjorn Nielsen as he is a very good supporter of mine. My horses were sick for Fairyhouse and Punchestown. This horse was out for over a year with a leg. He ran cracker on his 1st run back at Limerick. It'll depend on the ground as to what we do next, ideally he'd want it on the good side of yielding. So if this weather continues we may give him a little break."
Taaffe also added, "I'm delighted for Adrian, it's his first winner back since having his appendix removed a couple of weeks ago."
