Johanna Walsh brought up a treble for Joseph O’Brien and Dylan Browne McMonagle at Leopardstown today when running out a convincing winner of the fillies maiden.

The Sea The Stars filly bounced out and made all in the ten furlong contest.

Browne McMonagle asked the 9/4 favourite to stretch early in the straight and she asserted in the closing stages for a three-and-a-quarter length win over Believed

It was the winner’s third outing and she has been placed on her previous two starts.

“She’s a nice filly. To be honest we expected her to win the last day in Gowran but I’m not sure if she really loved the track,” said O’Brien.

“We were keen to get her on a big track and get her rolling today. I thought she won impressively because I think that was a strong maiden, there were plenty of nicely touted horses in it.

“You’d imagine she’ll head for a stakes races now. You’d imagine she’d love a mile-and-a-half, being a Sea The Stars filly.”

When asked if she could line up in an Oaks trial he added:-

“I think that would be logical. We’ll see what the program book is like. There is the race in Naas (Blue Wind Stakes on June 24th).

“We thought she might have ended up in the race yesterday (Naas Oaks Trial) had she won in Gowran. I think we learned plenty that day and hopefully we’ll have that going forward.”
