Chicago ran out a comfortable winner of the last at Fairyhouse this afternoon, the Fairyhouse Sunday Market Handicap, providing his trainer and rider Aidan & Joseph O’Brien with a treble on the card.

Having settled in fifth in the early stages he made smooth headway in the straight and hit the front a furlong out.

He was pushed out from there to assert close home and he went on to win by two and a half lengths at the line from the evens favourite Hay Point in second for John Oxx and Johnny Murtagh.

The winning 3yo son of Montjeu (second winner of the afternoon for that sire after Warwick Avenue was returned the 5/2 second favourite.

Winning rider Joseph O’Brien said afterwards: "He didn’t quite get home the last day at Bellewstown (over 1m 6f) and he relished the today’s trip."
