Trendelenburg completes special 3 days for Elliott

Gordon Elliott's final runner at the three day Perth April Festival Trendelenburg gave Capranny Stables their seventh winner of the meet when justifying favouritism in the Crabbie's Alcoholic Ginger Beer Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle.

Handled with aplomb by the inexperienced but promising young pilot, Callum Whillans, the Definite Article gelding looked likely to win his fourth race from six outings from some way out. However Jaunty Journey battled gamely on the run-in to make Trendelenburg earn his success.

This was undoubtedly a special success for Elliott given that his father Pat is in the winning syndicate, the Barstool Prophets as is Stephen McNally. Pat Elliott works with his brother Willie at the latter's garage in Summerhill and Willie is also in the syndicate.

Trendelenburg is a point-to-point winner and he could go chasing next season.

The other Capranny Stable winners over the three days were Martin Scruff, Plan A, Oscar's Ballad, Western Bound, Sounds Of Thunder and Definite All Star.
