Tribal on path to Irish Champions Weekend Trainer Damian English hopes to run Tribal Path in Irish Champions Weekend after the six-year-old underwent a breathing operation. The 87-rated son of Giant's Causeway was last seen finishing sixth behind Moviesta in a six-furlong handicap at Dundalk. He had previously been in great spirits this season, having racked up four wins on the spin before finishing a close third at the Galway Festival. Naul-based English said: "Tribal Path had a wind operation just two days after his last run at Dundalk where he made a bit of a noise. "Hopefully he'll run on Champions Weekend either in the seven-furlong (Sovereign Path Premier Handicap) on the Saturday (at Leopardstown) or the six-furlong (Bold Lad Premier Handicap) on the Sunday (at the Curragh). "My preference would be the seven-furlong race but it will be tight whether he gets in or not."
