Trifolium could return at Christmas Trainer Charles Byrnes identified the Christmas Festival at Leopardstown as a possible first staging post for Trifolium. Last season's Irish Arkle winner has not been sighted since finishing fifth in the Ryanair Novice Chase at Punchestown in May, but has yet to move through the gears at his home in County Limerick. Byrnes said: "He's still in light training, but he's been fine. He probably won't be out until around Christmas time, Leopardstown, maybe." Trifolium has impressed since he was sent chasing, with his Leopardstown success in January supplemented by third-placed finishes in both the Arkle at the Cheltenham Festival and the Maghull Novices' Chase at Aintree.
