Michael O’Callaghan is hoping for plenty of ease in the ground as he takes aim at some high-level targets with talented filly Copacabana Sands.

The daughter of Sands Of Mali has really flourished since joining O’Callaghan this season and followed up a Listed win at Naas by landing the Group 3 Barberstown Castle Stakes at Leopardstown last month.

“The intention is to supplement her for the Prix Rothschild at Deauville (on August 3). Obviously, we’ll be weather watching there as soft ground is key to her.

“It’s a step up to a mile but we have to try it at some stage.

“She’s had a little break, strengthened up well and is in great form.

“She’s also entered in the Matron and the Foret. She has plenty of options and hopefully we have a nice autumn campaign with her.”
