Hayley Turner faces a spell on the sidelines after suffering a broken ankle in a fall at Yarmouth on Thursday evening.

Britain's best-known female jockey partnered the John Jenkins-trained Rambo Will to finish third in the Grange Freehouse At Ormesby Handicap, but was unseated after passing the post.

Turner injured the same ankle in a fall at Bath two years ago and was out of action for almost four months.

Her agent, Guy Jewell, said: "She's broken the ankle, the same one she broke before, and she's in hospital in Cambridge to get it confirmed and get it sorted.

"We can't put a time-frame on how long she'll be out for until after she's seen the specialist later today.

"Hopefully we'll be a lot wiser this afternoon."
