Turpin supplemented for York feature

Dick Turpin has added a new dimension to an already fascinating Juddmonte International after being supplemented for next Tuesday's York highlight.

Richard Hannon's charge, placed in the 2000 Guineas and St James's Palace Stakes, landed a deserved Group One prize in the Prix Jean Prat last time and is stepping up to ten furlongs at the Knavesmire.

His trainer Richard Hannon is interested to see whether Dick Turpin's stamina will last out on Tuesday.

"John Manley, who owns him, has decided that the horse owes him nothing and wanted to have a crack so here we go," said Hannon.

"He's playing with what he's won. He's been a tremendous little horse so far and we are keeping him on for next year, obviously, so it will be very interesting to see if he gets the mile and a quarter.

"As long as the ground is something like good, it will be fine."

Dick Turpin faces a clash with Rip Van Winkle, one of three entries for Aidan O'Brien. The other two are Irish Derby winner Cape Blanco and Dewhurst hero Beethoven, who runs at Leopardstown tomorrow evening.

Twice Over and Byword will represent the sponsors, while Godolphin have entered both Cavalryman and Cutlass Bay.

Bushman, Jakkalberry, Stimulation and Monterosso complete the acceptors.

Matt Doyle of Sky Bet said: "The presence of Dick Turpin in the field will add an extra dimension to the race now Harbinger is out and Richard Hannon will be challenging for the trainers' title if his star miler can win the coveted Group 1 stepping up in trip."
