Twilight Payment runner-up behind Order Of St George for the previous two years, made it third time lucky in the Saval Beg Levmoss Stakes at Leopardstown this evening.

The six-year-old son of Teofilo was recording his third win at Listed level in this mile and three quarters event, and lowered the colours of an odds-on chance from Ballydoyle in the shape of Capri

Donnacha O’Brien set the pace on the favourite but was collared in the straight by Twilight Payment who quickly asserted a furlong out.

However Kevin Manning’s mount was being reeled in at the finish, and held on by a quickly diminishing three quarters of a length.

Capri could find no extra finishing a further three and three quarter lengths away in third.

Winning trainer Jim Bolger said, “The better horses have been running well over the last six weeks and any little step up on that was helpful. He’d a good run at Navan the last day.

“He could go for the Curragh Cup and maybe Melbourne later in the year. He’s been a good servant and is nothing if not consistent.”
