Willie Mullins is taking Sprinter Sacre on with Twinlight in the Sodexo Clarence House Chase at Ascot on Saturday.

The eight-year-old has won half of his 16 starts over fences and there seemed to be no fluke about his 16-1 success in the Paddy Power Dial-A-Bet Chase at Leopardstown over Christmas.

Sprinter Sacre is the undoubted star turn among the five Clarence House declarations. The brilliant nine-year-old is set to make his first competitive appearance since suffering a well documented heart problem when pulling up in the Desert Orchid Chase at Kempton in December 2013.

Trainer Nicky Henderson voiced concerns about the prospect of testing conditions earlier in the week, but big-race jockey Barry Geraghty was happy with the ground when walking the course on Wednesday.

Paul Nicholls saddles Tingle Creek winner Dodging Bullets, while Tony McCoy partners the Mick Channon-trained Somersby, winner of this race in 2012 when trained by Henrietta Knight.

Richard Lee's outsider Grey Gold completes the field.
