Billy Lee brought up a double on his first day back from injury on the impressive La Isla Mujeres in the Listed Ardilaun Hotel Irish EBF Oyster Stakes at Galway.

The strong-travelling leader began to increase her advantage approaching the home bend and soon had her 14 rivals in trouble in behind.

There was no stopping La Isla Mujeres (9/4f) in the final furlong as she powered in by three and a-half lengths from Bonnie Moon (22/1) with Island Hopping a head away in third at 8/1.

This was also a double for Paddy Twomey who supplied Iowa City for Lee in race two.

The trainer said: "We have waited all year with for this ground, and we've had to wait. She had a good run in Down Royal and soft ground is the key to her.

"I think she is good enough for the (Group 1) Prix Royal-Oak on Arc weekend and she is five-turning-six, so they might want to breed from her. She is also in the Cesarewitch, but I'd imagine they'd like to win a Group race and the Longchamp race might be the right one for her.

"Billy is back, which is great, and has had two rides and two winners."
