Despite a disappointing outing at Roscommon, trainer Paddy Twomey is focused on Purple Lily s next steps, confident that her recent performance does not reflect her true ability.

Purple Lily’s Roscommon Stumble

Paddy Twomey is quickly looking to the future with Purple Lily, after she failed to fire in the Lenebane Stakes at Roscommon on Tuesday. Sent off the 11/10 favourite for this Listed heat, the Irish Oaks third stumbled after leaving the stalls and eventually trailed home in seventh, with Chally Chute ultimately springing a 125/1 surprise. “Billy (Lee) said she took a bad step coming out of the stalls and she must have done something because that wouldn’t be her running,” Twomey reflected. “I’d say you can draw a line through it.”
