Uncle Junior wins Cross Country Chase Uncle Junior beat Garde Champetre in a thrilling renewal of the Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase at Cheltenham on Friday. The latter was going for his sixth win over the unique course and was sent off the 10-11 favourite for trainer Enda Bolger and jockey Nina Carberry. However, a slip coming into the home straight didn't help his cause and he couldn't quite get to Uncle Junior who found most under Patrick Mullins up the hill. Carberry said of the slip: "It didn't help. It knocked his confidence and he never recovered."
