Update on Lynam top-notchers All roads lead to Royal Ascot for Sole Power and the continued defence of his King's Stand Stakes crown. The Eddie Lynam-trained sprinter was only sixth in the Greenlands Stakes at the Curragh last weekend won by Mustajeeb, but is reported none the worse for those exertions. That was his first run in Ireland since August 2011, and the multiple Group One-winning gelding had previously claimed the Al Quoz Sprint at Meydan in March. Lynam's charge has won the Ascot five-furlong feature for the last two years, and his trainer said: "He came out of the race great, no problem, and will go for the King's Stand now. "He needs races, he used to be just a horse you'd mind from himself and didn't do too much with him, but as he's got older he can get heavy very easy and he needs those races. "It was great to give him a run at home, Richard (Hughes) was happy enough with him and hopefully we're trying to make history in trying to win the King's Stand for the third time. "He's in very good form and we're keen to go." Lynam also had news of his filly Anthem Alexander, who looks set to have her first start of the season at Naas on Monday. Winner of the Queen Mary at the Royal meeting last season, she finished her campaign with a close second to Tiggy Wiggy in the Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket. Lynam said: "All going well, Anthem Alexander will run on Monday in the Lacken Stakes. The ground seems to be coming her way."
