Upping The Anti followed up a wide margin win at Killarney with another very convincing victory in the Packie Downey Memorial Rated Novice Chase at Tipperary.

The Alan Halsall-owned gelding struck the front four out under Rachael Blackmore and was in command from before two out.

The Henry de Bromhead-trained six-year-old kept on strongly to beat Mr Caplan by all of 32lengths with Ferdia a further six and a hlf lengths away in third.

De Bromhead said, “He’s enjoying his jumping. He won on winter ground at Clonmel so we hoped he’d handle the ground today. He probably handled it better than most.

“The only thing worse than over watering is fast ground. It’s not an easy job and it’s definitely safe ground (officially yielding).

“He could go to Galway for the novice chase. It would be a tight turnaround but we’ll see.”
