Upping The Anti (5/1) was a facile 19-length winner of the 2m3f beginners' chase under Rachael Blackmore.

The Valirann gelding, runner-up in his only point-to-point and a winner over hurdles at Clonmel in November, tracked the leaders and before hitting the front three out. He went clear on the approach to the last before coasting home up the run-in. Mighty Meggsie won the battle for second with Ferdia another half-length back in third.

Blackmore said of the Henry de Bromhead-trained six-year-old: "He jumped really well and it's great to get his chasing career off to a good start.

“He was very good. He was attacking his fences, on that ground it's easier to do that.”
