Ustedes Team Would Welcome Rain

Connections of Voy Por Ustedes are hoping for rain ahead of the Queen Mother Champion Chase winner's seasonal debut at Cheltenham on Sunday.

Sir Robert Ogden's brilliant six-year-old, trained by Alan King, missed his intended reappearance at Exeter earlier this month because the ground was too quick.

Ready to run for three weeks, he has been switched to the paddypower.com Handicap Chase in which he has to give weight all round.

'He's in great shape. We've been ready to run for three weeks now,' said the owner's racing manager Barry Simpson.

'This wasn't the plan. We were going to go to Exeter, but that didn't work out. Providing we get some rain, he'll run.'

If all goes well, Voy Por Ustedes will tread a similar path to last season, with the Tingle Creek Chase at Sandown next month being next, culminating in a bid to land back-to-back victories in the Queen Mother.

Of a field of seven declared on Sunday, only Voy Por Ustedes and River City are in the handicap proper with the others all raised to 10st.
