Uttoxeter and Warwick go ahead This afternoon's meetings at Uttoxeter and Warwick have survived an early-morning course inspections. Uttoxeter had been in a degree of trouble after heavy rainfall, but conditions have improved markedly since the early hours of the morning. There remain some areas of standing water after 13.5mm of rainfall within the last 24 hours, but not enough for track officials to even consider the notion of abandonment, it having been dry since 2am. The going is heavy, with racing due to begin at 12.20pm. Warwick received 15mm of rain over the last 24 hours, but conditions were also deemed suitable enough for the fixture to be given the go-ahead. Warwick's first of seven races will begin at 12.40pm. The New Year's Day meeting at Exeter is now subject to an 8am precautionary inspection on raceday morning. No less than 35mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours has left parts of the chase course waterlogged, but track officials were relatively optimistic when they staged an initial inspection on Thursday morning. A statement issued by Exeter read: "We have a few waterlogged areas on the chase card we think we can get off, but we may have to take out a few fences."
