Coldstream s reverse as 5/4 favourite in the second, was a rare blip in recent times for the Paul Deegan team. The Curragh handler was back in the number one after race six, the Follow @TipperaryRaces On Twitter Handicap through Aussie Valentine s win.

Chris Hayes' mount looked like he might have to yield to the sweet-travelling Elegant Peace at one stage.

However the victorious Aussie Rules gelding knows how to win and he 'ground' it out well to ward off Elegant Peace by half a length. He was following up a Dundalk win from last October.

There was further pain for those backing the Ballydoyle horses as 9/10 shot John Constable could do no better than fourth of the five.

"He's a grand sort of horse and he'll probably be better when he steps up in trip.

"He handled the ground well but he's still a bit of a baby both mentally and physically.

"He should be better towards the back end of the year and also as a four-year-old. He's going the right way anyway," reported Deegan. (TW & EM)
