Perry Mason (4/1, from 7s this morning) continued his rise in the ratings when landing the Curragh's Feel The Rush With 1xBet.ie Handicap over a mile. Electric Beauty was soon at the head of affairs with the winner in second and the latter, partnered by Julian Pietropaolo, gained a narrow advantage over a furlong out.

Electric Beauty was a tenacious rival and battled all the way to the line but Perry Mason, recording his third win in five starts and benefitting from an unplaced run in the Irish Lincoln earlier in the month, held on to score by a neck.

Winning owner/trainer Maurice Ahern, based in Dromahane Co Cork, said “He was probably a bit too far back in the Lincoln, we were a bit disappointed, but it probably crowned him for today.

“We’ll probably step him up now into a better class. He might come back for the mile-and-a-quarter race here next Friday.

“This place is good to me, I had my first winner here as well last year. It’s a lucky place.

“It’s nice to have a Saturday horse, that’s the dream really, and hopefully we have one in him.

“I have 15 riding out and it’ll be a busy campaign.

“We’ll probably aim for the Galway Mile with him, he has won around there and that would be the plan.”
