Verrazano & Glory could clash again at Ascot Verrazano could cross swords with Olympic Glory again in the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot next month. The one-mile showpiece is under consideration for both horses, with the Aidan O'Brien-trained Verrazano running a fine race on his Ballydoyle debut to take third behind Richard Hannon's four-year-old in the JLT Lockinge Stakes at Newbury at the weekend. The Queen Anne is among the options for Olympic Glory, who is also in the Prince of Wales's Stakes, like his stablemate Toronado. Former American Grade One dirt winner Verrazano was beaten four lengths, but did his best work at the finish after travelling smoothly on what was also his first start on turf, leaving O'Brien perfectly happy. He said: "I was delighted with him, over the moon. "Obviously the boys (Coolmore) will decide, but I imagine there's a good chance he could go for the Queen Anne." Verrazano is a general 7-1 chance for the Queen Anne that starts the Royal meeting on June 17th.
