Vics call to be left late Connections of Vics Canvas are likely to make a late call as to where the Cork Grand National winner will run over Christmas. The Dermot McLoughlin-trained 11-year-old holds entries in the Coral Welsh Grand National at Chepstow and the Paddy Power Chase at Leopardstown. Both races are on December 27. "We'll just have to wait and see ground-wise," said the County Meath handler. "The (Welsh National) trip suits, but I wouldn't want very heavy ground. "It can be difficult getting a horse over there at Christmas. "Leopardstown is 40 minutes away from us and that would be kinder to him. "He is very well in (at the weights) at Chepstow. "We'll see how it goes here weather-wise and choose which race to go for nearer the time."
