Ruby Walsh continued his perfect record upon return from injury as he drove Sir Harry Cash to victory in Limerick’s two mile six handicap hurdle.

All eyes were on Barry Geraghty who had a strong-travelling partner in Stonehall Jack who took over the lead at the second last.

However, Walsh was stalking Geraghty and produced his mount to pick up the lead before the last. A fluent jump there and the jockey kept the blinkered eight-year-old going right to the line to deliver by a length and a half at 8/1.

Stonehall Jack got runner-up prize-money at 4/1. He was four lengths in front of 9/4 favourite Buster Dan Dan who led throughout but was passed two hurdles from home.

“It was a great ride. You could visualize in your head what he was going to do the whole way round. I was glad to get him today. I haven’t had one good enough to put him on recently,” winning trainer Eric McNamara said.

“Ruby said if you put him to sleep over two miles six that’s his right trip. He was entitled to win, he got murdered in Listowel. He’ll carry whatever penalty he gets and he’ll go for something similar.”
