Walsh rides My Will in National

Ruby Walsh will ride My Will in the John Smith's Grand National at Aintree on Saturday.

Walsh had the choice of a clutch of leading contenders for the race, but has been booked to partner the Paul Nicholls-trained My Will ahead of stablemate Big Fella Thanks, his father Ted's Southern Vic and the Willie Mullins-trained Irish Invader.

Walsh's sister Jennifer, who also acts as his agent, confirmed, 'Ruby is going to ride My Will. He said with the ground the way it is (good), he thinks it will suit him.'

Walsh has twice won the Grand National aboard Papillon (2000) and Hedgehunter (2005) and My Will, fifth in the Cheltenham Gold Cup earlier this month, is now clear favourite for the Aintree showpiece.

Paddy Power were quick to react and cut My Will's Grand National odds from 9's into 8/1 favourite.
