Walsh to return at Listowel Ruby Walsh expects to be back in action at Listowel on Sunday following over six weeks on the sidelines with a fractured ankle. The eight times Irish champion jockey tweeted, “progressing well, been riding out last few days and got all clear from surgeon today (Wednesday). Hope to ride Sunday in listowel”. He sustained the injury in a fall from Drive Time in the Guinness Galway Hurdle at the Festival meeting on August 2. Walsh has suffered his fair share of injuries in recent seasons, missing four months with a double fracture of his right leg following a fall at Down Royal in November 2010 while he was also out for a similar period earlier that year when fracturing his left arm in two places at Aintree.
