War fine after Gowran return Mouse Morris reports War Of Attrition to be in fine fettle following his fine comeback run in the Gowran Park Champion Chase on Saturday. The 2006 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner was having his first outing since pulling up at the Punchestown Festival back in April but acquitted himself with great credit to chase home The Fonze. The latter part of the 10-year-old's career has been troubled by injury problems but this most recent performance has given trainer Mouse Morris enough encouragement to continue his racing career for a little longer. "He's was fine on Sunday morning and there wasn't a bother on him which was great as there is always that worry with him," said Morris. "He maybe could do with a little bit more ease in the ground now he's older so we'll have a think about where we go next, but the Star Chase at Punchestown (October 15) is a race I have in mind at the moment. "We'll just have to see how he goes."
