Ward believes Aurelia his best chance Wesley Ward has hailed Lady Aurelia "a flying machine" ahead of her bid for Royal Ascot glory in the Queen Mary Stakes. The ebullient American trainer has landed the five-furlong Group Two twice in recent years with Jealous Again (2009) and Acapulco (2015) and feels his latest candidate compares favourably with that duo. Lady Aurelia won as she liked on her only previous competitive start on the dirt at Keeneland and will be a hot favourite to follow up on Wednesday in the hands of Frankie Dettori. "This filly is just amazing. She's done everything we've asked at home and she should be really tough (to beat). I really like her chances," Ward told At The Races. "She's very tractable. She can sit and come with the burst she has. It's not like she's a speed-crazy filly. " I would say she's my best chance of the week. She's just a flying machine. "When you watch her in the morning, it's like she breathes different air to the fillies she's breezing against. "I'm really looking forward to seeing her run and watching the brilliance that I've seen in the morning. "I think she's every bit as good as the two winners as I've had - she may even be a little better." Lady Aurelia stars in a 17-strong field, with 15 of the participants having won at least one race. The Keith Dalgleish-trained Clem Fandango struck gold on her second start at Catterick before being narrowly denied by Grizzel in the Hilary Needler Trophy at Beverley. Tim Palin, racing manager for the owners Middleham Park Racing, said: "Phillip Makin got off her at Beverley and said if he rode her again he would have waited another half a furlong as he felt he went too soon. "She was the horse to take out of the race and she only faded out of it near the line." Quench Dolly earned a narrow success on her racecourse debut for John Gallagher at Goodwood last month. Gallagher said: " We're looking forward to it. She's always shown plenty of speed and she seems quite relaxed and takes everything in her stride. "We'll give it a go and she'll be trying hard." Other contenders include French challenger Al Johrah, Tom Dascombe's Kachess and Barroche from Clive Cox's yard. Irish hopes rest on Aidan O'Brien's Roly Poly.
