Ward living the Dream at Doncaster Wesley Ward adds some American glamour to the Betway Brocklesby Conditions Stakes at Doncaster on Saturday as highly-regarded filly Create A Dream contests what was traditionally the first two-year-old contest of the season. Changes to the calendar mean the race does not now open the juvenile season, but the five-furlong event still carries plenty of prestige, although rarely can it have attracted such an exotic runner, one with Frankie Dettori booked to ride. Ward, a regular visitor to Royal Ascot, where he has an excellent record with his US raiders, has established a satellite base for some of his horses at Manton, from where Brian Meehan trains. Ward, who also runs New Trier at Kempton, said of Create A Dream: "She's a beautiful Oasis Dream filly out of Anabaa's Creation. "With a filly of this quality, we didn't want to run her against the speed-orientated horses on the dirt. "She came to the top on the grass at Palm Meadows in Florida, so we decided we'd bring her over to England along with a few others. "Sam Sangster was good enough to let us stay (at Manton) and we're grateful to Paul Shanahan for organising it for us. "The plan is for the horses to stay at Manton and we'll see if they are worthy of making it to Royal Ascot. "We're really excited about it and we're expecting big things from Create A Dream, bigger things than the Brocklesby, even though it is a historical race." Mark Johnston claimed last year's race with Ravenhoe and has made a rip-roaring start to the new campaign with his two-year-olds.
