George Waud, owner of Maltese Cross and chairman of Old Gold Racing, will fund a trip to the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe for 100 of the syndicate's owners.

The William Haggas-trained Maltese Cross has carried the Hollywood producer's own colours with distinction this season, finishing second in the Derby at Epsom before winning the Grand Prix de Paris and the Great Voltigeur at York to cement his status as a genuine Arc contender.

All-Inclusive Trip Packages Detailed

Keen to share the experience with existing Old Gold Racing owners, Waud is offering 48 winning packages – each for a Old Gold Racing owner and a guest – which will be available through an owners' draw.

Owners must actively enter via the dedicated online entry form. The number of entries will be linked to the number of qualifying live Old Gold Racing shares held, with one share granting one entry.

Old Gold Racing is all about creating experiences and putting our owners at the heart of everything we do. Hopefully we can get 100 people over to Paris, have a brilliant weekend and, with a bit of luck, cheer Maltese Cross home in the Arc.

Each winning package will include Eurostar travel, two nights in a four-star hotel, breakfast and transfers, as well as access to the Racing Breaks pre-Arc event, the Old Gold Racing drinks event and Winning Post tickets for ParisLongchamp on Sunday, October 4.

There will also be two further packages for a winner and guest available through a completely free-to-enter public social media prize draw, more details of which can be found on Old Gold Racing's website.

Owner Experience at Heart of Arc Trip

Speaking to Old Gold Racing, Waud, said: “The Arc is one of the great occasions in racing and, with Maltese Cross all set for Paris, I want as many Old Gold Racing owners as possible to be part of it.

“I've been lucky enough to experience some fantastic days through racing, and I know how much it means to be there in person, so I wanted to give our owners the opportunity to enjoy it together.

“Old Gold Racing is all about creating experiences and putting our owners at the heart of everything we do. Hopefully we can get 100 people over to Paris, have a brilliant weekend and, with a bit of luck, cheer Maltese Cross home in the Arc.

Old Gold Racing chief Executive, Ed Seyfried, added: “This is an extraordinary gesture from George and exactly the sort of thing that makes Old Gold Racing such fun.

“In the office we're already running a sweepstake on how many wives, husbands, friends, family members and paramours get brought along. Paris may not know what's hit it. My money is on the paramours.

“More seriously, taking nearly 100 Old Goldies to the Arc is going to be fantastic. We'll make a proper weekend of it, make an awful lot of noise and, with a bit of luck, we'll all be there to watch Maltese Cross do something very special.”
